Prohibited Items Policy
What you may not list on Lebsloop
Lebsloop is a peer-to-peer resale marketplace for fashion items. Some categories of item are not allowed at all; some require disclosure beyond the standard listing fields. This policy lists what is forbidden and explains why. Violations lead to immediate de-listing and, depending on severity, account suspension or referral to UAE authorities.
1. Authenticity
You may not list any of the following:
- Counterfeit items — items presented as a specific brand when they are not made by that brand.
- Replicas — items intentionally designed to look like a branded item.
- Authentic-but-misrepresented items — e.g., a genuine handbag listed under a brand it is not from.
2. Pricing
You set your own price — there is no minimum and no maximum. Price your piece at whatever you think is fair; a buyer can make an offer, and you can accept, counter, or decline it.
3. Intimate wear and hygiene
For hygiene reasons the following may not be listed:
- Underwear and lingerie.
- Swimwear bottoms. Swimwear tops in standalone listings are allowed.
- Items in direct contact with feet without a lining (open-toe shoes are allowed; sneakers and closed shoes with worn insoles are not).
- Items soiled with body fluids, fragrance saturation that does not air out, or any organic residue.
4. Ownership and provenance
You may not list:
- Items you do not own outright.
- Items you lease, finance, or hold under an arrangement that does not give you free title to resell them.
- Items reported stolen.
- Items still subject to a retailer return window or warranty that prohibits resale.
5. UAE legal restrictions
You may not list items that are restricted or banned under UAE law, including:
- Items made from CITES-listed protected species (ivory, certain furs, certain reptile skins, certain shells). Vintage pieces may still be illegal to resell — when in doubt, do not list.
- Items that promote or display content prohibited under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrimes (graphic content, hate symbols, etc.).
- Costume pieces representing weapons, religious offence, or political activity that may breach local norms.
6. Safety
You may not list:
- Items containing hazardous materials (broken battery cells in costume tech, leaking pens, toxic dyes).
- Medical devices.
- Real weapons or any item that could function as one even if marketed as costume.
7. Condition
You may not list items in a condition worse than what you disclose. The published condition scale is new-with-tags, excellent / like new, very good, good, and fair. "Fair" is the minimum bar — anything more worn than fair (active wearing damage, broken zips, missing structural pieces) may not be listed. Any marks, repairs, or missing accessories must be disclosed in the condition-details field, with photos if relevant.
8. Consequences of violation
On a first-time violation, the listing is removed and you receive an in-app warning explaining why. Pending sale orders against the removed listing are cancelled with full refund to the buyer. On repeat or serious violations (counterfeits, ownership fraud, safety hazards) the account is suspended, pending payouts are held pending review, and Lebsloop reserves the right to refer the matter to UAE authorities or to the brand owner where applicable. See the Terms of Service for the full suspension and termination process.
9. Reporting a violation
Anyone — a buyer, a seller, a brand owner or its authorised representative, or any third party — can report a listing they believe is counterfeit, infringing, stolen, or otherwise in breach of this Policy. Report it by tapping the flag on the listing, or by writing to safety@lebsloop.com. To let us act quickly, a report should include: (1) the listing link or order ID; (2) what is wrong (e.g. counterfeit, trademark or copyright infringement, stolen, misdescribed); (3) for a rights-holder, the trademark or copyright relied on and proof you own or represent it; and (4) your contact details. Reports from brand owners and their representatives are prioritised.
10. Notice-and-takedown and rights-holder cooperation
When we receive a credible report that a listing is counterfeit or infringing, we act on the following timeline:
- Acknowledgement — within 1 business day of a complete report.
- Provisional removal — a listing that is reported as counterfeit or infringing with supporting detail is hidden from sale within 1 business day while we review, so no buyer can purchase it during the review. Any pending order against it is paused.
- Review and decision — within 5 business days. We review the listing, the seller’s evidence of authenticity and ownership, and the reporter’s evidence. If the report is upheld, the listing is removed permanently, any buyer is fully refunded, and the seller bears the at-fault costs under the Fees Policy.
- Seller notification and counter-notice — the seller is told why their listing was removed and may submit a counter-notice with proof of authenticity and ownership (receipts, authenticity cards, serials, or a recognised certificate) within 7 days. A listing is only restored if that proof satisfies our review; an unanswered or unproven counter-notice leaves the removal in place.
Repeat-infringer rule: a seller with confirmed counterfeit or infringing listings is suspended, pending payouts are held pending review, and a repeated or coordinated pattern leads to permanent account closure and may be referred to the authorities. We keep a record of confirmed infringements per account.
Cooperation with rights-holders and authorities: Lebsloop is not the seller of any item and does not pre-clear every listing, but we act promptly on notice and cooperate with brand owners and UAE authorities. On a confirmed counterfeit we may, consistent with the Privacy Policy and UAE law, report the listing to the brand owner or its UAE representative and to the Ministry of Economy, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism or the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and UAE Customs, and provide information lawfully required for an investigation. Brand owners can establish a standing reporting relationship with us by writing to safety@lebsloop.com.
