Terms of Service
The rules for using Lebsloop
These Terms cover what you can expect from Lebsloop and what Lebsloop expects from you. By using the app you agree to follow them. Lebsloop is a peer-to-peer marketplace for fashion resale — we connect sellers with buyers, acting as a disclosed agent for the seller; we are not the retailer or owner of any item listed.
1. Who we are
Lebsloop is a peer-to-peer fashion resale platform operating in the United Arab Emirates. "Lebsloop", "we", "us", and "our" mean the company that owns and operates the Lebsloop mobile application and the lebsloop.com website, based in the United Arab Emirates. Its full registered particulars (registered company name, trade-licence number, and registered office) are available on request at legal@lebsloop.com. "You" means the person using the app or website.
Lebsloop is an intermediary acting as a disclosed agent for the seller — we provide the technology, identity verification, payment processing, delivery, and dispute support that lets people buy and sell each other's wardrobes. We do not take title to any listed item and we do not set its price; the seller is the principal supplier. Resale purchases are direct contracts between a seller and a buyer, facilitated by Lebsloop under these Terms.
Buying and selling pre-loved items are governed by the Buyer Agreement and the Seller Agreement. Delivery is covered by the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms when you create an account, complete profile setup, or use any part of the service. If you do not accept them, do not use Lebsloop.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Lebsloop after the effective date counts as acceptance. The current version is shown at the top of this document.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be 18 or older and a UAE resident to use Lebsloop. By creating an account you confirm both. We may verify your age and residency at any time using your Emirates ID or UAE Pass.
Identity verification (KYC) is required to list items and to be paid out; buying does not require verification. We verify your identity through UAE Pass where possible, falling back to direct Emirates ID and selfie capture for users without UAE Pass. See the Privacy Policy for how this data is processed.
One person, one account. Sharing your account, transferring it, or registering on behalf of someone else is not allowed. If your account is compromised, contact support immediately so we can secure it — sign-in uses one-time codes, so there is no password to change.
4. Buying and selling
Lebsloop hosts resale between two private individuals: a "seller" who owns a pre-loved item and a "buyer" who wants to own it. When a purchase is confirmed, you enter a direct sale contract with the other party — ownership of the item passes from the seller to the buyer.
Specific obligations for each side are detailed in the Buyer Agreement and the Seller Agreement. The Prohibited Items Policy lists what cannot be listed. Resale purchases are final sale; the only exception — an item that is Significantly Not As Described — is covered in the Buyer Agreement.
5. Payments, fees, and VAT
All payments on Lebsloop are processed by our licensed payment partner. At checkout the buyer's card is authorized — held, not charged — and the charge is taken only when the item is delivered. Your card details are stored by the payment partner, never by Lebsloop. Seller earnings are released to the seller's Lebsloop balance after the post-delivery check window; sellers withdraw them by bank transfer to a UAE IBAN registered in their own legal name (identity verification required).
For each resale purchase, the buyer pays: the sale price, a flat one-way delivery fee, and a Lebsloop Buyer-Protection fee (10% of the sale price, minimum AED 25, maximum AED 1,500). There is no cleaning fee.
The seller keeps 100% of the sale price they set — Lebsloop does not deduct a commission from the resale price. The delivery fee is the platform's — Lebsloop arranges delivery through an appointed courier and the fee covers it; it is not paid to the seller. The seller's earnings are released to their Lebsloop balance after the buyer receives the item and the 48-hour check window has passed.
If your cumulative annual resale income approaches AED 375,000 (the UAE mandatory VAT registration threshold), you are solely responsible for monitoring your own earnings and registering for VAT with the Federal Tax Authority yourself. Lebsloop does not track your earnings, does not notify you when you approach the threshold, and does not collect VAT on your behalf on your sale proceeds.
6. Item condition and disputes
Sellers must list accurately and hand over the genuine item they described, clean and free of defects. The courier transports the item only and does not inspect it; a buyer who receives an item that does not match the listing documents it with photos when filing a claim within 24 hours of delivery.
If a buyer reports an item as Significantly Not As Described (SNAD) within the report window, the claim is handled through the in-app process. The Trust & Safety / Dispute Resolution Policy governs evidence, classification, and resolution. Where a SNAD claim is approved, the buyer is refunded in full and the item is returned to the seller.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use Lebsloop to:
- List counterfeit, stolen, or replica items.
- List items that infringe a trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property right.
- List items prohibited under the Prohibited Items Policy.
- Misrepresent the condition, brand, size, or authenticity of an item.
- Communicate off-platform to circumvent Lebsloop's fees, escrow, or dispute system.
- Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against another user.
- Submit forged Emirates ID images, false personal data, or someone else's identity to KYC.
- Automate, scrape, or reverse-engineer the app or website.
- Use Lebsloop to launder money, evade tax, finance terrorism, or breach UAE sanctions law.
8. Content you submit
You retain ownership of the photos, videos, descriptions, and reviews you upload to Lebsloop. By submitting them, you grant Lebsloop a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, modify (for cropping, format conversion, watermarking), and use them as necessary to operate and promote the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already incorporated into completed sales (which we retain for the legal retention window).
You confirm you own the rights to all content you upload and that the content does not infringe any third party's rights or violate UAE law.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, the Seller Agreement, the Buyer Agreement, or the Prohibited Items Policy; if your activity puts other users or Lebsloop at legal or financial risk; or if we are required to do so by UAE law or a regulator.
You can close your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Account closure follows the Account Deletion Policy. Closing your account does not cancel active orders — those proceed to completion under their existing terms.
10. Liability
Lebsloop provides the platform "as is" and "as available". We do not own, inspect, or guarantee the condition of any listed item. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every type of attack.
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Lebsloop's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the total fees we have collected from you in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (including lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm).
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE consumer protection law, including for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
11. Environmental estimates
Any environmental figures shown in the app — for example the estimated CO₂ or water "avoided" in your "My Difference" summary — are illustrative estimates only. They are calculated from published third-party per-item averages (such as Ellen MacArthur Foundation and WWF data), assume each re-homed piece replaces one bought new, and do not account for the delivery, packaging, or production footprint of the transaction itself. They are not a measured, verified, or guaranteed reduction, are not a factual claim attributable to Lebsloop or to you, and may be updated as our data and sources change. The organisations whose averages we cite have not reviewed, produced, or endorsed Lebsloop's figures or methodology.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute between you and Lebsloop are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your statutory rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in your local court.
Disputes between a buyer and a seller about a specific sale are handled through the in-app process described in the Trust & Safety / Dispute Resolution Policy before escalating to a court.
