Buyer Agreement
What you agree to when you buy a pre-loved item
This Buyer Agreement sets out your rights and obligations when you buy a pre-loved item through Lebsloop's resale marketplace. It sits alongside the general [Terms of Service](terms-of-service) and the [Privacy Policy](privacy-policy) — read all three. By confirming a purchase you accept this Agreement for that sale.
1. When this Agreement applies
This Agreement applies whenever you buy a pre-loved item outright through Lebsloop — the resale side of the marketplace, where ownership of the item passes to you.
Lebsloop is a disclosed agent for the seller. The seller is the principal supplier of the item; Lebsloop provides the marketplace, payments facilitation, delivery, and dispute services. Your purchase contract for the item is between you and the seller. Listings and receipts disclose the item as "supplied by" the seller. Lebsloop does not take title to items and does not set prices — the seller sets the price.
2. What you pay
When you buy, your total at checkout is made up of:
- The sale price — set by the seller. The seller keeps 100% of this amount.
- A Buyer-Protection fee — 10% of the sale price, minimum AED 25, maximum AED 1,500. This funds buyer protection — secure payment handling, the dispute and refund system, and escrow-until-delivery (see section 3).
- Delivery — a one-way delivery fee of a flat AED 25 per seller (one delivery per seller; if you buy from more than one seller, each seller's parcel is AED 25), for our appointed courier to collect from the seller and deliver to you. See the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
3. What Buyer Protection covers
Your Buyer-Protection fee pays for three things:
- Escrow until delivery — your money is held securely and is only released to the seller after you receive the item and a check window of up to 48 hours passes with no issue (see section 9).
- Authentication for luxury items — where authentication documentation is required at listing and is absent, Lebsloop may arrange a third-party authentication check after the sale and before delivery (see section 6).
- SNAD returns and dispute support — if an item is Significantly Not As Described, you can return it for a full refund within the report window (see sections 4 and 5), backed by the Trust & Safety Policy.
4. Final sale, with one exception
Resale purchases are final sale. Because every item is pre-loved and one-of-a-kind, there are no change-of-mind returns. The only ground for a return is that the item is Significantly Not As Described, defined in section 5.
The one exception is "Significantly Not As Described" (SNAD). If the item materially differs from the listing, you may return it for a full refund. SNAD is defined precisely in section 5.
5. Significantly Not As Described (SNAD)
An item is Significantly Not As Described when it materially differs from what the listing showed and stated. SNAD includes:
- Undisclosed damage or stains — holes, tears, marks, or wear not shown or described in the listing.
- Wrong colour, style, or size — the item you received is materially different from the one listed.
- Missing components — a belt, lining, removable parts, dust bag, or other items shown as included are absent.
- Missing or wrong authenticity materials — authenticity cards, serial tags, or certificates shown in the listing are absent, or the item is not genuine.
Normal signs of pre-loved wear that were disclosed or clearly visible in the listing photos are not SNAD. A minor difference that does not materially affect the item is not SNAD.
To claim SNAD, report it through the app within the handover report window — 24 hours of delivery — with photos taken on receipt. "No photo proof = no platform intervention" is a hard rule across Lebsloop; see the Trust & Safety Policy. The photos you take on receipt and file with your claim are the evidence — the listing photos show the condition the seller committed to. The courier transports the item only — it does not inspect it.
6. Authenticity
The seller warrants that every item they list is genuine, that they own it, and that they have the right to sell it. Selling counterfeit goods is illegal in the UAE; counterfeit listings are removed and may be reported to the authorities. Lebsloop takes counterfeits seriously.
For selected high-value brands, an optional third-party authentication check may be offered. Authentication is an independent, arranged third-party process — Lebsloop relays the seller's authenticity documentation and arranges the checks described here; it does not itself provide an authenticity guarantee. If any check finds an item is not genuine, your purchase is fully refunded.
7. Title and ownership
Ownership (title) of the item transfers to you when you accept delivery. Until that point the seller remains the owner and your money stays in escrow. Once title has transferred, the item is yours to keep, wear, re-list, or resell, subject to the Terms of Service.
8. Delivery
Delivery is arranged by Lebsloop through an appointed courier partner across all seven emirates of the UAE (delivery times available may vary by emirate) — Lebsloop coordinates the handover but is not the carrier, and every order is delivered (there is no self-collection or in-person pickup). The delivery fee is a flat AED 25 per seller (one delivery per seller; if you buy from more than one seller, each seller's parcel is AED 25), charged one-way for resale and shown as a Shipping fee at checkout.
The courier collects the item from the seller on a scheduled slot and delivers it to you — the courier transports the item only and does not inspect it. If something is wrong, the photos you take on receipt and file with a claim within 24 hours of delivery are the evidence. Before the courier is dispatched, a cancellation refunds you in full, including delivery; once dispatched, the delivery fee is non-refundable except where a seller-fault SNAD claim is approved. Full details are in the Shipping & Delivery Policy and the Fees Policy.
9. Payment, security, and escrow
At checkout your card is authorized for the full amount — held, not charged. The charge is only taken when your item is delivered; if the sale falls through before then, the hold is released back to your card. Once charged, your money is held in escrow with Lebsloop's licensed payment partner and is only released to the seller after you receive the item and the check window passes. Lebsloop does not hold customer balances as its own funds. If you raise a SNAD claim within the window, the funds stay in escrow until the claim resolves.
Where a seller accepts offers, you can offer below the asking price — at least 70% of it (an offer at or above the asking price is a Buy now). An offer expires after 48 hours if it is not accepted or countered, and the seller can counter back. Offers move no money: nothing is charged until you check out the order an accepted offer creates — that is the point you pay, and the rest of this Agreement applies from there.
Keep all purchase communication in the in-app messaging. Off-platform chats (WhatsApp, Instagram DM, calls) mean we lose the evidentiary record if a dispute is raised.
10. Identity verification
You do not need to verify your identity to buy. Verifying (UAE Pass, or an Emirates ID scan) is optional and earns you a Verified badge; Lebsloop may require it for higher-value or higher-risk activity. Your personal data is handled under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) — see the Privacy Policy.
11. Prohibited items
Some items may not be listed or sold on Lebsloop. If you receive something that should never have been listed, report it through the app. See the Prohibited Items policy for the full list.
12. Your responsibilities as a buyer
- Read the listing carefully before buying — photos, condition notes, measurements, and authenticity details.
- Be reachable for delivery — every order is delivered by our courier.
- Inspect the item as soon as you receive it.
- Report any SNAD issue through the app, with photos, within the 24-hour report window.
- Keep all communication in the in-app messaging and treat sellers and our team with respect.
Refunds apply to an approved SNAD claim (sections 4 and 5) or where an order is cancelled. An approved SNAD claim — like any covered claim (not as described, counterfeit, damaged in transit, or never delivered) — is refunded in full, including the Buyer-Protection fee, to your original payment method. On a completed sale, and in any change-of-mind situation, the Buyer-Protection fee is earned and non-refundable. See the Fees Policy for exactly what is refunded at each stage — before the courier is dispatched, in transit, and after delivery. Money held in escrow that is not released to the seller is returned to you (section 9).
13. Your account and who can buy
You buy with one Lebsloop account — the same one you would use to sell. To buy you must be 18 or older, resident in the UAE, legally able to enter a contract, and not someone we have previously removed. Hold only one account; duplicates may be suspended. Keep your details accurate (especially your delivery address) and your login private, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Browsing, saving, and messaging sellers need no identity check — and neither does buying. Verifying your identity (UAE Pass, or an Emirates-ID scan) is optional and earns a Verified badge — see section 10. You can close your account at any time from Settings, once your open orders and disputes are resolved and any refunds have settled.
14. How a dispute is handled
If something is wrong with your order, raise it in the app within 24 hours of delivery, with photos (sections 4 and 5). Here is what happens next:
- Talk it out first — you and the seller have up to 7 days to resolve it together in the in-app chat.
- The seller has 48 hours to respond once you raise the issue.
- From day 7, either of you can escalate to our support team, who respond within 48 hours. We review the listing, your photos, the seller's evidence, and your messages, and decide.
- If we side with you, you are refunded per the Fees Policy and may be asked to return the item; if we side with the seller, the sale completes and you keep the item; sometimes a fair partial refund is the right answer.
You will not be refunded for a claim that is not valid — normal pre-loved wear that was disclosed, a minor difference that does not materially affect the item, a change of mind, or an item you used, altered, or damaged after delivery. "No photo proof = no platform intervention" is a hard rule. Filing false or repeated bad-faith disputes can lead to account action (section 16).
15. Keep your purchase on Lebsloop
Every purchase must go through Lebsloop — that is the only way your money is held in escrow and your buyer protection applies. Do not pay a seller directly (cash, bank transfer, or another app) or move a deal off the platform, and please decline and report any seller who asks you to. An off-platform purchase is entirely at your own risk: no escrow, no dispute support, and no refund protection.
16. Account suspension
We may restrict, suspend, or close your account if you break these terms or the law — for example: filing false or frivolous disputes, abusing the dispute process, raising a chargeback in bad faith after receiving an item as described, harassing or threatening sellers or our team, trying to take deals off-platform, or any unlawful use. Where we can, we will tell you why.
17. Messaging sellers
Use the in-app chat to ask a seller about an item before or after you buy. Keep it respectful and on-platform — do not share contact details to move off Lebsloop, send spam, or harass anyone. We may review messages to resolve a dispute, investigate abuse, or meet a legal request; keeping the conversation in the app is what lets us help if something goes wrong.
18. Getting help
Need help, or want to make a complaint? Reach our support team in the app at Settings → Help, or by WhatsApp on the number listed there — most issues are quickest to fix directly. For formal legal notices, write to legal@lebsloop.com. We communicate with you in the app or by email at the address on your account. General terms about liability, intellectual property, and lawful use live in the Terms of Service.
